A Note on AI

Music has always been about communication. Often it gets tangled up in celebrity and ego — more about who’s singing than what’s being said.

We’re entering an age where you won’t be able to tell if a song is human-made or made by AI. No more opportunity to be impressed by anyone… all that matters is what is being said.

Why make the song in the first place? To glorify yourself? Your ego?

Or — to say something meaningful because it needs to be said?

The weight of emotion is in the words and the intent behind them, not in fame or technique. Every generation dislikes the influence of new tech, but for everything lost, something new is gained.

There may be fewer musicians and songwriters than before, but those who love the craft will remain. We will be here, crafting songs to become better at communicating through music.

This technology makes it possible for anyone to turn what’s on their heart and mind into a song. Peer to peer. No stage required. Just honest expression, set to music.

And if you prefer live musicianship or a human vocal, that’s understandable and always an option. But before the performer, the real power of music isn’t in how it’s made. It’s in what it communicates.
